We are often asked: "I need a converter from RS-232 to DMX". This is not possible, because RS-232 desribes a hardware interface, while DMX describes a protocol. Besides, the hardware interface for DMX512 is called RS-485. Thus a protocol converter has to perform two jobs: convert the hardware interface and convert the protocol. We offer some solutions.
